Longevity Consulting Awarded Contract to Provide Protection Support for the US Army Corps of Engineers

Washington, DC – September 21, 2015 – Longevity Consulting has been awarded a contract by the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) to provide physical security subject matter expertise for the Operational Protection Division (OPD) in order to ensure continuity, coordinated countermeasures, effective implementation of protection program directives and address multi-functional protection requirements.

“We are pleased to be able to support the USACE OPD in the development and execution of their protection programs,” said Eric Thompson, Chief Operations Officer of Longevity Consulting. As the principle advisor for protection efforts for the Commander, the OPD is charged with the responsibility of developing and implementing comprehensive protection programs and plans to counter the terrorist and criminal threat.

As the United States continues to focus on fighting and defending the Nation from all types of threats, the USACE plays a critical role in the Army’s joint mission in support of the Nation’s domestic and foreign interest both in peace and war. Increasingly, USACE has been assigned and deployed as a lead Army component on interagency teams, providing engineering capabilities and solutions for stability, reconstruction and contingency operations. In addition, USACE is required to protect Civil Works infrastructure and administrative facilities that house their skilled workforce.
