Longevity Consulting and Jackson State University Team Up To Promote Innovation and Excellence at HBCUs

Washington, DC – May 10, 2018 – Longevity Consulting and Jackson State University (JSU) have signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to increase the capacity of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) to effectively compete for federal acquisitions such as grants, contracts, and cooperative agreements.

The collaboration between Longevity and JSU will identify federal programs and initiatives where HBCUs may be either underserved or underutilized as national resources. The partnership will also encourage public sector, the private sector, and community involvement aimed at encouraging HBCUs to participate in federal programs, as well as become more involved in research and commercialization activities.

The Path to Excellence and Innovation Project is a comprehensive plan to expand the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Small Business Program to provide technical assistance and training for HBCUs. The program will support HBCUs and prepare them to compete and receive more Federal acquisition funding that will diversify the revenues for the universities and create more business and research opportunities. Currently, there are seven pilot schools, and each school has chosen one or more Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) teaming partners to support their efforts in this pilot program.

The NIH is the largest biomedical research organization in the world with 27 institutes and centers with an estimated annual contracting budget of $4.5-5B. The Emerging Technology Consortium (ETC) a 501 (c) 4 organization presented a concept for HBCU Teams to the Director of the Office of Logistics and Acquisition Management (OALM) as a possible solution to improve the numbers of awards going to HBCUs. As a result, OALM wanted to create an Acquisition Assistance Gateway (AAG) to manage training and technical assistance for these colleges and universities. The AAG would provide support to the HBCUs on how to compete and win contracts that would assist in diversifying revenue and create more business/research opportunities at the HBCUs.

Longevity Consulting Awarded CIO-SP3 Small Business Government Wide Acquisition Contract

Washington, DC – March 27, 2018 – Longevity Consulting announced today it has been selected by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for the Chief Information Officer – Solutions and Partners 3 (CIO-SP3) Small Business Government Wide Acquisition Contract (GWAC) to provide IT services and IT services-based solutions. Through a joint venture with Pivot Sense LLC, a North Carolina based Management and IT solutions company, Longevity will provide services that include, but are not limited to, health and biomedical-related IT services to meet scientific, health, administrative, operational, managerial, and information management requirements.

The CIO-SP3 Small Business contract is a multiple award, 10-year Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract that enables federal government agencies to purchase information technology platforms and professional services. CIO-SP3 Small Business gives federal agencies access to small businesses providing integrated IT solutions for current and evolving government needs. Further, CIO-SP3 Small Business allows for the application of technology to meet business goals including the ability to stay on the forefront of emerging IT services.
