Longevity Consulting Trains Office of Personnel Management in Value Stream Mapping and A3 Process Improvement Methodologies

Washington, DC—January 23, 2013— Longevity Consulting, one of the Washington region’s leading providers of Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) training and support to the federal government, was selected by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) in Boyers, PA to provide their organization with technical training on the Value Stream Mapping (VSM) and A3 process improvement methodologies.
The OPM Retirement Operations Center located in Boyers, PA is the site of the storage, initial development and administration of millions of federal employee’s retirement and disability case files. Recent CPI project work has generated a re-designed process layout which has resulted in greater efficiency and case accountability. OPM – Boyers sought to continue their recent successes using CPI by gaining technical training on the powerful tools of Value Stream Mapping and A3. These tools allow organizations to get an in-depth view and documentation of their process flows and functions to help reveal performance gaps that can be tackled with CPI methods.
Longevity Consulting, a recognized expert in the use of these tools, created a customized curriculum that educated, through knowledge transfer, relevant examples and hands on simulations, the proper use and application of these techniques. The training was well received and provided participants a firm foundation on which to continue developing their CPI program.
